Internship and Volunteer Coordinator
The CENTER for Human Services, a leading provider of behavioral health care services, is seeking an Internship and Volunteer Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Create policies and procedures for the internship and volunteer program in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Clinical Officer, and Compliance Program Manager
- Assist in the development, implementation, and attainment of program goals and objectives
- Develop relationships with area colleges and universities to develop a sought-after internship program at MCCHS
- Work with colleges and universities to develop processes for recruitment, onboarding, communication, evaluation, and other infrastructure needs
- Be responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of all interns and volunteers
- Work collaboratively with other supervisory staff in planning and problem-solving within the agency to ensure the success of the internship and volunteer program
- Assist in monitoring and ensuring that all interns and volunteers in the program follow MCCHS procedures for all clinical and administrative documentation
- Assist in the utilization review of services and staff in the Internship and Volunteer Program
- Participate in program data collection and evaluation activities
Qualifications:
- Minimally possess the educational/professional credentials to qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as defined by the Illinois Department of Human Services. This includes:
- A master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or a related service field AND
- Successfully completed 1,000 hours of practicum and/or internship under clinical and education supervision or has one year of documented clinical experience under the supervision of a QMHP
- Possess a valid license as a registered professional nurse and has training in mental health services or one year of clinical experience, under supervision, in treating problems related to mental illness or specialized training in the treatment of children and adolescents
- Possess licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) per requirements of the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid Illinois driver’s license with full coverage auto insurance
