The CENTER for Human Services, a leading provider of behavioral health care services, is seeking a Substance Use Peer Specialist (Full-Time).

Responsibilities:

• Provide recovery support services to clients in pre or post-treatment of a SUD program
• Build coping skills and assist with maintaining long-term recovery
• Connect clients with community resources and navigate treatment systems
• Develop collaborative working relationships with community agencies, homeless shelters, therapists, physicians, and law enforcement personnel

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Personal experience in recovery from lived experience with mental illness and/or a substance use disorder
• Willingness and ability to engage in self-disclosure to assist in treatment, to inspire hope, and build rapport
• Passion to help others with their recovery
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid Illinois driver’s license

Salary Range: $17.00 - $21.00 hourly
